| Synopsis |
| It is a story about mothers, daughters, women, and men. Mother Lenora Nixon-Caldwell has four daughters that remain single. She is trying her best to get them married off before they become old maids. Three of them seem eager to find husbands, but one of them has no interest in finding a husband. Rev. Abel Darden, IV comes to Redeemed for Service Baptist Church to run a two-week revival. Mother Caldwell sees the chance to get one of her daughters married. Mother Caldwell meets opposition in the form of her husband, who just happens to be the pastor of Redeemed for Service. He wants her to leave her daughters and the preacher alone. He just doesn’t see to understand how important it is to get the girls married off. More opposition comes her way when Annabel Stolkes decides to try to catch the evangelist for her granddaughter. The Nixon girls, Sebrina, LaShawnda, Cornelia, and Victoria have been trying for success for the past year to get their mother to leave them alone about getting married. She insists on parading them around in front of every single Christian man that they meet. Three of the girls, Sebrina, LaShawnda, and Victoria happily go along with their mother, knowing that if they go along with her, she won’t give them a hard time. But Cornelia, she refuses to go along with any of her mother’s plans and tricks. Cornelia firmly believes that her mother is the reason that they aren’t married now. The girls’ have a faulty reputation because of their mother’s pushiness. She hopes to one day get her mother to see that. Rev. Darden has been invited to preach at the Redeemed for Service Baptist Church. He is excited because Redeemed is one of the most progressive Baptist churches in the area. He has heard some crazy things about the first lady of the church, but he puts that all out of his mind and focuses on the task at hand, hearing a Word from the Lord for the members of Redeemed for Service Baptist Church. Rev. Darden quickly finds out that what he has been hearing about the first lady of Redeemed is true when Mother Caldwell latches on to him. It ain’t easy being that single preacher. | This Week... |
This week marks the week I will be doing my NaNo prep. I am going to try to do my outline, character sketches, and other things this week. I am hoping that I will have the drive and desire to do it. If this month is any indication, I don't know. I haven't even done any NaNo Icons. I haven't posted to any of the lists. I haven't been to the NaNo site, but one time. I went on Live Journal once this month. It has been hard. I know that once I get to working on the story, it will be a lot better. My ultimate goal this year is to complete the novel. I still have yet to complete one of these things, although I have won three times. Here goes the whole kit and caboodle. My NaNo Phrase for this year.. A NaNoing I go yet again (I ain't even sure my heart is in it, this year !) Labels: 2008, Prep Work, Slogan |

| Total Inspiration |
I had a total inspiration about the characters. I decided to make the mother of the girls in the story, the first lady of the church. I added the pastor and the mother to the character list. I still need to work on the church, city, and other locations. Things are coming along. Labels: 2008, Characters, Prep Work |

| Still More Thoughts |
I am still thinking about my NaNo Novel. I haven't done any work on it, but I have some ideas about the characters. I haven't written anything down. I am thinking about using the last name of Nixon or Dixon for the girls. I haven't come up with anything for the preacher yet. I will keep thinking on this. It's slow, but it's coming along. | Thoughts And Things |
I had some thoughts about my NaNo Novel. I haven't really sat down to do any work on it, but I have been thinking about it. I haven't done a bit of work. It has been hard this year, but it seems as if November snuck up on me. This year has flown by. Labels: 2008 |

| An Idea |
I finally got an idea for NaNo. I am so excited. The working title is THAT SINGLE PREACHER. I really want to call it DAT SANGLE PREACHA, but that is incorrect. Anyway. Here is a brief synopsis... One mother, four sisters, one preacher. The mother tries to get one of her single daughters married off the the guest preacher at the revival at their church. Three of the girls actively chase the preacher. One sister doesn't seem to care. The preacher just wants to preach and go home. As I think about it, the idea gets more exciting. Labels: 2008 |

It's that time again; time for NaNoWriMo 2008. NaNoWriMo has been going on for ten years. That's mad crazy. This year is my fifth year. I think that is so cool.
Here we go again, 30 crazy days of novel writing! One of these days, I am going to have a friend join me for this endeavor.Labels: 2008 |
